CC-JOBS INGO is dedicated to providing Educational Opportunities and Community Development in Rwanda, focusing on the Gitega Sector of Nyarugenge District in Kigali. We offer diverse internships, research, and volunteering programs for international students from all study backgrounds to support the Youth Development Sponsorship Program (YDSP).

Our vision is to foster a prosperous community where youth have access to resources enabling them to become self-sustainable and significant contributors to their community. We sponsor ambitious youth who lack financial means to obtain educational qualifications and employable skills.

Youth Development Sponsorship Program (YDSP):

  • Initial Stage:
    1. Practical study program in Culinary Arts and Nutrition at established Training Centers.
    2. Basic English and Communication Skills programs.
  • Intermediate Stage: 3. Entrepreneurship training and coaching. 4. Counseling and Career Guidance. 5. Employment coaching, including application and interview process. 6. Community Development activities with YDSP students.
  • Completion Stage: 7. Internship placement for all students. 8. Connecting students with job opportunities or assisting them in starting their own businesses.

Mission of the Organization:

  1. Support eager and ambitious youth by sponsoring their Vocational Training.
  2. Offer guidance for successful employment or entrepreneurship through mentorships and workshops.
  3. Inspire youth to actively contribute to their community through community development activities.

Goal for Students: Experience a meaningful, impactful, and life-changing internship, research, or volunteering period in Rwanda.

 

Role of the intern: Transfer skills and leave behind sustainable materials and methods.

Intern activities (general for all studies):

  • Attending family visits to announce selection of YDSP students and before internship placement
  • Attending and evaluating counseling sessions of YDSP students
  • Creating resilience-building workshops for YDSP youngsters
  • Helping with documentation and report writing
  • Assisting with data collection and research implementation
  • Managing and upgrading our social media channels
  • Designing and implementing tourism activities for sustainability
  • Attending team meetings for evaluations and impact analysis
  • Assisting with workshops and community activities: Culinary Arts, English & Communication, Career Guidance & Counseling, Entrepreneurship, and Community workshops

Project Management:

  • Contributing ideas for project improvement and development
  • Sharing theoretical knowledge or work experience with the team
  • Training and supporting the staff through presentations on ideas that can enhance the team's work

Specific activities for Social Work, Psychology, Safety & Security, and Global Studies:

  1. Conducting research related to YDSP or assisting in educational and community development activities.
  2. Improving workshops on topics such as Drug Abuse or Unwanted Pregnancy for disadvantaged youth in Rwanda.
  3. Continuous impact analysis to reduce youth unemployment.
  4. Assisting with regular workshops in Culinary Arts, English & Communication, Career Guidance & Counseling, and Entrepreneurship.

  • Supervision: Staff with related bachelor’s degrees.
  • Workspace: Office space with internet, training room for workshops, and community space for outreach activities.
  • Guidance: Daily support with research writing and reviews, data collection, language interpretation, and local neighborhood guidance. Assistance with all living arrangements.

 

Impact Internship Service Package Rwanda: €1,695.00

Impact Internship Service Package South Africa: €1,995.00 

 

This one-time amount includes:

  • Matching procedure; suitable project with project description according to all criteria.
  • Impact Internship guidance & support from registration until return home (Rwanda and South Africa experience since 2015)
  • Agency fee of €500 for preparation assistance, full period study abroad guidance, evaluation and monitoring during your stay in Rwanda or South Africa.

  • Visa application (and extension) assistance (visa on arrival, after two weeks then internship for up to 2 years in Rwanda. South Africa needs a visa before arrival and requires more preparation)

  • In-country introduction regarding country, project and your role

  • Contribution to the study program of 1 student from Rwanda, from a disadvantaged neighborhood (included value €300 which can be raised through crowdfunding platforms such as Gofundme.com or geef.nl)

Service Package Monthly Amount:

  • Rwanda:
    • Cost per month private room: €800
    • Cost per week: €200
    • Cost per night: €35
  • South Africa:
    • Cost per month private room: €975
    • Cost per week: €360
    • Cost per night: €60

When you want to stay longer than your booked period, request if your room is available.

Included in your monthly hosting package:

  • Hosting, local project support and supervision
  • Accommodation in Guest house including WIFI
  • Food and beverages package (during the week Monday-Friday; 3x meals per day)
  • A cook who provides dinner every Monday to Friday evening
  • Kinyarwanda class (Local Language Rwanda) or a local language in South Africa
  • Cleaning of the house; 3 times per week
  • Laundry service; 3 times per week.

Vacancy requirements

  • Fully self-funded, but fundraising or crowdfunding is encouraged
  • Passionate and capable in your field
  • Internationally oriented, adventurous, flexible, basic English level, independent worker, strong communicator, open to working with different cultures
  • Self-direction in unclear or ambiguous situations
  • Respect for local customs, safety awareness, and local regulations
  • Acceptance and understanding of cultural differences
